Frequently Asked Questions

What is 'composite'? How does it rate against hard wood for decks?

Composite decking is considered highly durable and will last a long time with minimal maintenance. Timber decking can also be highly durable when looked after properly. Hardwood options like jarrah, ironbark and burnt ash outperform cheap options like treated pine and will last much longer.

How do I maintain my deck?

Basic cleaning, like weekly sweeping of loose dirt and debris, will help maintain your deck's natural luster. Wood decks are meant to blend with the environment, but fallen leaves and dirt that sit too long can lead to discoloration, mold, and wood rot.

Is there a warranty on the decking materials?

Each supplier offers a warranty against their product. This will differ based on which material is chosen.

What kind of fasteners do you use?

We recommend for most materials to use KlevaKlip, although this can differ in recommendation based on the type of board chosen for the deck build.
